PHRi is issued by HRCI (HR Certification Institute) in the USA and sits between the entry level aPHRi and the senior SPHRi. It covers HR administration and shared services, talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations and risk management, and HR information management, and it sits well alongside local knowledge of Saudization, Nitaqat, Qiwa, Mudad and GOSI.

Eligibility depends on your degree: one year of professional HR experience with a master's, two years with a bachelor's, or four years with less than a bachelor's. The exam has 90 scored and 25 pretest questions in 2 hours 15 minutes, scored on a 100 to 700 scale with 500 to pass, at Pearson VUE centers in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar or online via OnVUE. HRCI lists the exam fee at about USD 395 plus a USD 100 application fee at the time of writing; verify on hrci.org. Recertification is 60 credits every three years.
