Career Development Essentials

Career Development Essentials treats a career as something to be designed rather than discovered. The course opens with the five forces reshaping work, artificial intelligence and automation, remote and hybrid arrangements, the gig economy, portfolio careers and skills-first hiring, then turns inward to decode Career DNA: interests and values, strengths, personality, lifestyle expectations and motivation. From that profile, participants learn to read the industry-function grid, analyze labor- market demand like a professional analyst, and manage four skill portfolios that age at different rates.

The second half converts self-knowledge into movement. Participants set a three-horizon vision, audit five categories of career gap, and build a 70-20-10 learning roadmap. They then run the job search as a system: eight channels, the hidden opportunity market, recruiter relationships, and a six-stage funnel with measurable conversion rates. Later chapters position AI as an instrument rather than a decision-maker and map the paths beyond employment, freelancing, side businesses, the creator economy and multiple income streams, before a capstone blueprint.
