CICCM Certification Cost in Egypt: Exam Fees, Training and Total Budget in EGP
Read this guide in Arabic: اقرأ بالعربية
Let us start with the number everyone wants. At the time of writing, the Certified International Commercial Contracts Manager program at Blue Ocean Academy costs EGP 45,900 for live online or classroom delivery in Egypt, and that fee includes the course, the examination and the certification. The self paced version is listed at EGP 50,999, discounted from a standard EGP 66,399. Those are the Egypt prices the course page shows to visitors browsing from Egypt.
That is the headline. The rest of this article explains what sits behind it: what IPSCMI itself charges, what is bundled and what is not, the renewal fee five years later, the small costs nobody budgets for, and how the picture changes when a bank or a multinational pays. If you have not yet checked whether you qualify, read the CICCM requirements and eligibility guide for Egypt first.
What IPSCMI charges, and what it does not publish
IPSCMI, the US institute that owns CICCM, does not publish a standalone exam fee for this credential on the public pages we checked. The exam and the certification are delivered through its training partners as part of a program, which is why in Egypt you see one fee rather than a tuition line and a separate exam line.
What IPSCMI does publish is the recertification fee. Certifications renew every five years, and at the time of writing the recertification fee is about USD 100, which works out to roughly EGP 5,000 at around 50 EGP per US dollar. There is a one year grace period, after which a late fee of about USD 50 per missed year applies, plus extra continuing education points. IPSCMI also offers a lifetime certification option for about USD 300 (roughly EGP 15,000 at the time of writing) for professionals with at least fifteen years of experience. We always tell candidates to confirm current figures on the IPSCMI recertification page, because US fees change without much notice.
The Blue Ocean fee in Egypt, line by line
For EGP 45,900 (live online or classroom, Egypt price at the time of writing) you get the full 50 hour program, the training material, support with the IPSCMI application, the examination administered through Blue Ocean Academy at the end of the program, and the certificate issued by IPSCMI on passing. The CICCM course page states that the fee “includes course, examination and certification fees”, and that is the wording we stand behind.
The outline runs to seventeen modules: contract formation, the CISG and UNIDROIT frameworks, tendering, fixed price and cost reimbursement contract types, pricing, change orders and variations, risk allocation and indemnities, dispute resolution, FIDIC and other standard forms, drafting, and contract automation. For an Egyptian contracts engineer on a FIDIC based national project, or a procurement officer running tenders under Law 182 of 2018, that is the whole toolkit in one fee.
Self paced versus live online or classroom
Here is something that surprises people: at the time of writing, the live online or classroom option (EGP 45,900) costs less than the discounted self paced option (EGP 50,999). The self paced standard price is EGP 66,399, so the discount is real, but it still lands above the instructor led fee.
Our honest advice for most Egyptian candidates is to take the live option. You pay less, you get a trainer who has argued variations with contractors in Cairo, and you get classmates from EPC firms, developers and oil and gas service companies who ask the questions you did not know you had. Self paced makes sense when a shift pattern or travel schedule, say a rotation at Ain Sokhna or a posting in the Gulf, makes fixed sessions impossible.
Classroom sessions run from our New Cairo office in the Fifth Settlement when a batch is scheduled. Live online runs on the same fee with the same trainer.
The full budget in EGP
Here is the picture most candidates should plan for. Figures are Egypt prices at the time of writing; the renewal line converts a US dollar fee at roughly 50 EGP per USD.
| Item | Live online or classroom | Self paced |
|---|---|---|
| Program fee including training, exam and IPSCMI certification | EGP 45,900 | EGP 50,999 (standard EGP 66,399) |
| Separate IPSCMI exam fee | None, included | None, included |
| Annual membership | None listed for CICCM | None listed for CICCM |
| Study material | Included | Included |
| Travel to classroom days in New Cairo | Varies; nil for live online | Nil |
| Recertification after five years (about USD 100) | Roughly EGP 5,000 | Roughly EGP 5,000 |
| Indicative total for the first five years | About EGP 50,900 | About EGP 55,999 |
Optional extras such as a printed FIDIC book are left out deliberately: they are genuinely optional and their prices move. Most of our candidates spend nothing beyond the program fee until recertification.
Costs people forget
Time is the real hidden cost. Fifty hours of training plus your own revision is realistically six to ten weekends of focused effort around a full time job. If you are on a site in East Port Said or the New Administrative Capital, build in the commute or choose live online, and make sure the connection can hold a three hour session.
Retakes are the other question we get. IPSCMI does not publish a CICCM retake fee on its public pages, so we will not quote one here. Ask our advisors for the current arrangement in writing before you enroll.
When your employer pays
In Cairo, a large share of our CICCM candidates are sponsored. Banks such as CIB, NBE and Banque Misr, the multinational shared service centers in New Cairo and Smart Village, the big EPC contractors and real estate developers, and the oil and gas service companies all run annual training budgets, and a contracts certification is an easy approval because the finance team can see the risk it reduces.
Three practical points. First, ask early: budgets are usually set in the last quarter of the financial year and spent in the first half. Second, the fee is quoted in EGP for learners in Egypt, which matters to finance departments that struggle to release foreign currency. Third, if three or more colleagues want to join, ask our Cairo office about a corporate batch; the course page lists corporate training on a quote basis, and a closed group often changes the arithmetic.
If you are paying yourself, the honest comparison is against the salary you expect to move to. Our CICCM salary guide for Egypt lays out the ranges, and our honest look at whether CICCM is worth it in Egypt works through the payback logic.
A cheaper way in
If EGP 45,900 is not realistic this year, you are not out of options. Mastering Contracts for Procurement Professionals is listed at EGP 30,599 self paced at the time of writing, has no eligibility rules, and covers the practical contract skills most Egyptian procurement teams need day to day. Many candidates do that first and step up to CICCM when their employer agrees to sponsor.

Frequently asked questions
How much does CICCM certification cost in Egypt in total?
At the time of writing the Blue Ocean program is EGP 45,900 live online or classroom, or EGP 50,999 self paced (standard EGP 66,399), including training, exam and IPSCMI certification. Add roughly EGP 5,000 for recertification after five years, based on an IPSCMI fee of about USD 100.
Is the IPSCMI exam fee separate from the course fee?
No. IPSCMI does not publish a standalone CICCM exam fee; the exam is delivered through its training partners as part of a program. In Egypt the Blue Ocean fee covers the course, the examination and the certification in one amount.
Is there an annual membership fee for CICCM?
Not that we can find. The IPSCMI pages we checked list a recertification fee every five years but no yearly membership dues for this credential, which keeps the long run cost low compared with several other professional certifications.
Can my company pay for CICCM in EGP?
The fee is shown in Egyptian pounds for learners in Egypt, which is usually simpler for Egyptian finance departments than a foreign currency transfer. Our Cairo office handles corporate enquiries, so ask our advisors to confirm the invoicing paperwork your finance team needs and whether a group batch makes sense.
What does it cost to renew CICCM?
IPSCMI lists recertification at about USD 100 every five years at the time of writing, roughly EGP 5,000 at around 50 EGP per dollar. You renew by collecting ten continuing education points or retaking the exam, and a late fee of about USD 50 per missed year applies after the one year grace period.
