At the time of writing, the Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt costs EGP 35,699 self paced (discounted from a standard EGP 45,899) or EGP 47,000 live online or classroom in Egypt, and the fee includes the course, the examination and the certification. What the fee covers, and why there is no separate exam bill
The Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt at Blue Ocean Academy is certified by the American Certification Institute (ACI). The course page states that the fee includes course, examination and certification fees, and the assessment is administered through the academy at the end of the program.
This matters more than it sounds. Several well known certifying bodies in other fields bill the exam in US dollars, so a candidate whose training provider does not include it pays the training in EGP and then a second amount at roughly 50 EGP per USD at the time of writing, often on a card with foreign currency limits. The gap between self paced and live is about EGP 11,300. In our experience that gap buys you three things: a trainer who answers questions about your own process, a fixed timetable that keeps you moving, and classmates from other Cairo industries whose problems teach you almost as much as the slides. If you are disciplined and have done statistics before, self paced is a sound choice. If you have never run a project, the live format usually pays for itself in the first month back at work.
The costs people forget
Study materials. Included. You do not need to buy a textbook to pass. Candidates who want extra practice can use our free Green Belt practice questions with explanations.
Statistical software. Not required. Green Belt level analysis, from control charts to a basic hypothesis test, can be done in Excel. If your employer uses Minitab you will probably have a company license; if not, do not buy one for the course.

The pitch that works is not "I want a certificate". It is "here is a process costing us X per month, and the Green Belt gives me the method to fix it". Attach a one paragraph description of the problem, the current metric and the fee in EGP. Training managers in Egypt approve quantified requests far faster than general development requests, and a Green Belt project that trims a fraction of a factory line's scrap pays back the fee in months.
Two practical notes. Some employers require a service bond of a year or two if they sponsor; read it before you sign.
