CILT Certification Cost in Egypt: Exam Fees, Training and Total Budget in EGP
Read this guide in Arabic: اقرأ بالعربية
When someone in Cairo asks us what CILT costs, they usually want one number. The honest answer is one number, because our fee includes the course, the exam and the certification fee, as the course page states, plus a short list of extras such as a unit resit or membership after you qualify. Below is every line item for the International Diploma and the International Certificate, in EGP, with the Blue Ocean prices exactly as they appear for visitors from Egypt at the time of writing.
What CILT charges, and what our fee covers
CILT, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK, does not run a public global price list for its international qualifications. Registration with CILT, student membership during your studies and your assessment entries are all arranged through the accredited center, and CILT's own membership fees page says fees vary by grade and route. On our program you do not pay CILT on top of the training price: our fee includes the course, the exam and the certification fee, as the course page states, so your CILT registration and assessment entries sit inside the EGP price.
That is different from certifications where you pay a US body a fixed exam fee in dollars and book a test center slot. With CILT there is no separate exam voucher to buy. The assessments are part of the program you register for through the center.
Blue Ocean training fees in Egypt
These are the Egypt prices at the time of writing, shown in EGP on each course page for visitors from Egypt:
- International Diploma in Logistics and Transport (Level 5), live online or classroom: EGP 71,500
- International Certificate in Logistics and Transport (Level 3), live online or classroom: EGP 69,000
- Certificate in Distribution and Transportation, CILT endorsed, self paced: EGP 20,399 (standard EGP 30,599, currently discounted)
- Shipping and Freight Forwarding, CILT endorsed, self paced: EGP 20,399 (standard EGP 30,599, currently discounted)
Two things jump out. First, the Diploma costs only EGP 2,500 more than the Certificate, so for anyone with two years of experience the Level 5 qualification is clearly the better buy per pound of recognition. Second, the self paced short certificates are a different product: CILT endorsed fundamentals rather than the full international qualification, which is why they sit at a much lower price. Our Certificate versus Diploma article goes deeper on which level fits which career stage.
Live online and classroom in New Cairo are the same price. Classroom runs when a batch is scheduled; live online runs more often and saves you the drive across the Ring Road.
CILT registration, membership and assessment entries
When you enroll, we register you with CILT as a student member through the center. This is what entitles you to sit the CILT approved assignments and written examinations, delivered live online for Egypt. CILT sets that charge in GBP, but you do not pay it on top: our fee includes the course, the exam and the certification fee, as the course page states, so the sterling charge does not reach your budget.
After you finish, the qualification itself does not expire. Membership is annual and optional. Keeping it is how you later upgrade to Member (MILT) once you have at least two years of appropriate experience, and most of our graduates who stay in the field keep it for the letters after their name and the professional network.
Retakes, materials and the hidden costs
If you do not pass a unit, you resit that unit, not the whole program. Resit entries are arranged through the center and charged per unit; the figure is confirmed at the time because it follows CILT's current schedule. The cheaper insurance is to prepare properly the first time, which is why we hold revision sessions before each assessment window.
Study materials for our batches are provided as part of the program, with session recordings for live online learners. Extra reference books are optional. The real hidden cost is time: budget roughly four to six hours a week for the better part of a year, including reading on the Metro and a quiet Friday morning before each assessment.
Travel is close to zero if you study live online. If you choose classroom in the Fifth Settlement, factor in your own commute from Giza, Nasr City or 6th of October City on the scheduled days.

How employer sponsorship changes the picture
A large share of our Diploma learners in Cairo do not pay from their own pocket. Multinationals with regional supply chain teams in New Cairo and Smart Village, FMCG and pharma plants in 6th of October City and 10th of Ramadan, 3PLs serving the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and large Egyptian groups such as Elsewedy Electric, Orascom and Talaat Moustafa typically hold annual training budgets, and a UK chartered body qualification is an easier approval than a generic workshop.
Banks such as CIB, NBE and Banque Misr sponsor less often for logistics roles, but their procurement, facilities and fleet teams do get approvals when the business case is framed around cost control. If you need to make that case, ask us for a company invoice in EGP in your employer's name and a one page outline of the units; most learning and development managers want exactly those two documents. Some employers fund the Certificate for supervisors and the Diploma for managers as a ladder, which is cost efficient for them and good for you.
If you are paying yourself, ask our advisors about payment options when you enquire. And before you decide, read our honest take on whether CILT is worth it in Egypt, which sets this budget against the salary ranges we see in the market. For every other question, the CILT guides for Egypt hub collects the full set of articles.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the CILT Diploma cost in Egypt?
At the time of writing, Blue Ocean's Egypt price for the International Diploma in Logistics and Transport is EGP 71,500, live online or classroom, as shown in EGP on the course page for visitors from Egypt. Our fee includes the course, the exam and the certification fee, as the course page states, so CILT registration and assessment entries are not billed on top. Only a unit resit or optional membership after you qualify costs extra.
Is there a separate CILT exam fee in Egypt?
No separate exam voucher is bought the way it is for some US certifications. Your CILT approved assignments and written examinations are arranged through the accredited center as part of your registration, covered by our fee, and delivered live online for Egypt. Resits, if needed, are charged per unit.
Does CILT certification expire or need renewal?
The qualification itself does not expire. CILT membership is annual and optional; keeping it current is what allows you to upgrade to Member (MILT) later, once you have at least two years of appropriate experience. The renewal is billed in GBP.
Can my employer in Egypt pay for my CILT course?
Yes, and many do. We issue an invoice in EGP in the company's name and can provide a short outline of the units for the approval. Multinationals, 3PLs and large Egyptian groups sponsor most often, usually as a ladder with the Certificate for supervisors and the Diploma for managers.
Why is the Certificate almost the same price as the Diploma in Egypt?
Both are taught through the center with a similar teaching load, so the training price is close: EGP 69,000 against EGP 71,500 at the time of writing. The market value of the two credentials is further apart than that, which is why we steer eligible candidates toward the Level 5 Diploma.
Is the price the same for live online and classroom?
Yes. The Egypt price covers live online with an instructor or classroom at our New Cairo office when a batch is scheduled. The self paced CILT endorsed certificates are a separate, lower priced product at EGP 20,399 each at the time of writing.
