CIPM Course in Cairo
Read this guide in Arabic: اقرأ بالعربية
If you work in procurement anywhere in Greater Cairo, from a bank head office in Garden City to a factory in 6th of October City, this page is the practical one: what the Certified International Procurement Manager (CIPM) course looks like when you take it with us in Cairo, which format to choose, what it costs in EGP, and how to enroll.
Who takes CIPM in Cairo and Giza
Our Cairo CIPM groups are a mix we have come to expect. Procurement managers from multinationals in New Cairo and Smart Village who need the credential for a regional role. Senior buyers at construction and real estate groups working on the New Administrative Capital who have been promised a manager title. Category leads from FMCG and pharma plants along the Cairo to Alexandria desert road. Bank procurement officers from CIB, NBE and Banque Misr preparing an internal promotion case. And a steady stream of people planning a move to the Gulf who want a credential that reads the same in Cairo and Dubai.
What they share is experience. CIPM is the manager level of the IPSCMI ladder, and IPSCMI lists an associate degree or more than three years of purchasing or supply chain experience, plus CIPP or an equivalent, as the entry requirements at the time of writing. If you are earlier in your career, our CIPM requirements and eligibility guide explains the alternatives.
Three ways to take the course in Cairo
Classroom in New Cairo. Our office is at U Venues, Office 239, Second Floor, Tourism Zone, Fifth Settlement, New Cairo. When a classroom batch is scheduled, sessions run there with a Blue Ocean instructor. It suits people who live or work on the east side, in New Cairo, Nasr City, Heliopolis or Maadi, and who want the discipline of a fixed timetable. Price: EGP 45,900 at the time of writing.
Live online with an instructor. Same instructor, same 45 hours, same cohort discussion, delivered over a live video platform. This is the most popular choice for learners in Giza, 6th of October City and Sheikh Zayed who do not want to cross the Ring Road twice a week, and for anyone whose work travel is unpredictable. Price: EGP 45,900.
Self paced. Recorded content and the full study material, worked through at your own speed, with the exam at the end. Price: EGP 35,699 at the time of writing, discounted from a standard EGP 45,899. Good for experienced managers who want the credential and are honest with themselves about self discipline.
All three lead to the same IPSCMI exam and the same certificate. Prices are shown in EGP on the course page for visitors from Egypt.
How scheduling works
We do not promise fixed dates on a web page, because batches in Egypt open when enough learners are ready, and we would rather tell you a real date on the phone than an aspirational one online. In practice live batches are built around working professionals: evening sessions on weekdays or longer sessions on Fridays and Saturdays, spread over several weeks to cover the 45 hours. Self paced learners start as soon as they enroll.
The exam is administered through Blue Ocean Academy at the end of the program. You do not need to travel abroad or find your own proctor. IPSCMI describes it as a multiple choice paper of roughly 80 questions over about three hours at the time of writing, in English.
What the course covers
The Certified International Procurement Manager program runs 45 hours across seven modules: an introduction to purchasing and procurement strategy, logistics and supply chain, financial decisions for sourcing, international trade, performance and ethics, risk management in procurement, and an introduction to contracts. Running through them are the practical skills Cairo employers ask about in interviews: supplier assessment, negotiation, procurement KPIs, supplier relationship management, international payment methods, customs procedures and sustainability.
A tip from our trainers: the international trade and financial decisions modules are where Cairo learners who have only bought locally need the most practice. Start those early rather than leaving them to the week before the exam.
Cairo employers that value it
Regional procurement hubs and shared service centers of multinationals in New Cairo and Smart Village. Banks and the fintech firms around them. Contractors and developers such as Orascom, Hassan Allam and Talaat Moustafa, and industrial groups like Elsewedy. Telecom operators. EgyptAir and the aviation suppliers around Cairo Airport. Pharma and FMCG plants in the 6th of October and 10th of Ramadan industrial zones. None of these mandate CIPM in every posting, but in our experience the credential appears in manager level job descriptions often enough to be a real advantage when the shortlist is drawn up.
How to enroll and pay in EGP
Three steps. Call or email our Cairo office and tell us your role and years in procurement; we confirm whether CIPM or CIPP is the right level. Choose your format and we send the EGP price, the invoice details and, for live batches, the next expected start. Pay in EGP, and if your employer is sponsoring, we issue the invoice to the company; most banks and groups in Cairo sign off procurement training quickly once they see the EGP figure and the outline. The full cost picture, including recertification, is in our CIPM cost in Egypt guide.
