Course Objectives:

  1. Introduce participants to the concept of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and the importance of applying environmental, health, and safety standards in the workplace.
  2. Enable participants to apply environmental and health regulations that contribute to a safe working environment for employees.
  3. Introduce participants to best practices in managing health and safety, including accident and injury prevention.
  4. Teach participants strategies for minimizing environmental risks and achieving sustainability by promoting workplace safety and occupational health practices.
  5. Help participants develop emergency response plans and risk management strategies to ensure an effective response in case of accidents or crises.

Course Modules:

Day 1: Introduction to Environmental Health and Safety

  1. Concept of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS): Defining the importance of applying environmental, health, and safety standards in organizations and communities.
  2. Objectives and Programs of EHS: Understanding the main objectives of environmental, health, and safety programs and how to develop an effective plan for compliance with these standards.
  3. Environmental Health and Safety Regulations: Reviewing international and local laws and regulations governing workplace health and safety.
  4. Negative Impacts on Environment and Health: Identifying and reducing risks that may threaten the environment and employee health in different workplace environments.

Day 2: Managing Health and Safety in the Workplace

  1. Principles of Occupational Health and Safety Management: Reviewing key principles guiding health and safety management, such as risk prevention and accident reduction.
  2. Risk Assessment: How to evaluate risks associated with work activities and prioritize them to minimize negative impacts.
  3. Preventive Systems and Procedures: Developing plans and procedures to protect employees from potential risks, such as safety protocols, protective clothing, and proper use of tools and equipment.
  4. Developing Emergency and Evacuation Plans: Learning how to create emergency plans and crisis response strategies, including safe and effective site evacuation procedures.

Day 3: Managing Environmental Risks

  1. Environmental Pollution in the Workplace: How to reduce pollution resulting from industrial and commercial activities and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  2. Waste Management and Safe Disposal: Strategies for managing industrial waste and disposing of it in environmentally friendly ways.
  3. Environmental Responsibility of Organizations: How to implement corporate social and environmental responsibility practices to achieve sustainability.
  4. Sustainable Energy and Energy-Saving Technologies: Understanding sustainable energy strategies and the importance of energy-saving technologies to improve the environment and reduce ecological impact.

Day 4: Occupational Health and Safety Training

  1. Training on Risk Prevention: The importance of continuous employee training on preventive measures and how to deal with potential hazards.
  2. First Aid Procedures: Teaching participants how to administer first aid in emergencies and manage workplace accidents.
  3. Safety in Handling Chemicals: Understanding safety rules for handling chemicals, including their storage and use.
  4. Safety When Operating Heavy Equipment and Machinery: Learning safety measures when using heavy machinery such as machines and cranes.

Day 5: Emergency Response and Continuous Evaluation

  1. Developing Emergency Response Plans: How to create comprehensive emergency response plans to address incidents or disasters like fires or chemical spills.
  2. Conducting Emergency Drills: Reviewing real-life simulations of emergency situations and how to manage them to ensure employee and environmental safety.
