CLTD Salary in Egypt: What Certified Professionals Earn

Read this guide in Arabic: اقرأ بالعربية

Nobody publishes an official CLTD salary table for Egypt, and anyone who quotes you a single number is guessing. What we can do, after years of teaching logistics people in Cairo, is read what job postings ask for, what salary surveys from the large recruiters show, and what our own candidates tell us when they move. This article is that reading, in EGP per month, with the hedges left in.

All figures below are gross monthly pay in the private sector unless stated, and they describe what postings and surveys typically show at the time of writing. Egypt's pound has moved a great deal in recent years, so ranges age quickly. Treat them as a map, not a contract.

Salary ranges by seniority in Greater Cairo

Level and typical titlesExperienceTypical monthly range in EGP
Logistics or transportation coordinator, dispatcher, junior planner0 to 3 yearsEGP 12,000 to 25,000
Logistics specialist, senior coordinator, demand or inventory planner3 to 6 yearsEGP 25,000 to 50,000
Logistics, distribution or warehouse manager, 3PL account manager6 to 10 yearsEGP 50,000 to 110,000
Head of logistics, supply chain director10 years and aboveEGP 110,000 to 250,000, higher at some multinationals

The width of each band is the point. A warehouse manager at a family owned distributor in Giza and a warehouse manager at a multinational pharma plant in 6th of October City share a title and little else. Where you sit inside the band depends on sector, employer size and, increasingly, whether you hold a credential the hiring manager recognizes.

How sector changes the picture

Multinationals, FMCG and pharma. Top of every band, plus medical cover, transport or a car at manager level, and an annual bonus. The shared service centers in New Cairo and Smart Village pay in EGP but benchmark against regional pay, which pulls them up. These are also the employers most likely to write APICS or ASCM into a posting.

Large Egyptian groups. Elsewedy, Orascom, Hassan Allam, Talaat Moustafa and their peers sit in the middle to upper part of each band, often with profit share and strong allowances on site. They recognize CLTD mostly at manager level and above.

Banks. CIB, NBE and Banque Misr do not run warehouses, but they employ procurement, vendor management and facilities teams on good bank pay scales. CLTD is rarely requested there; a procurement credential is the more natural fit.

Government and public sector. Port authorities, the national carrier's cargo arm and canal related entities pay a lower base than the private table above, often EGP 8,000 to 25,000 at mid level according to postings, but with allowances, stability and in some entities significant bonuses. CLTD is not required, though an international credential does help in promotion files.

SMEs, freight forwarders and small 3PLs. The Cairo and Alexandria forwarding market is large and fragmented. Postings there typically show EGP 10,000 to 35,000 for operational roles, sometimes with commission. This is where CLTD adds the least to pay in the short term and the most to your exit options.

Cairo, Alexandria and the Suez Canal zone

Head office roles cluster in Cairo, so the upper bands live there. Alexandria carries the port, forwarding and customs clearance jobs; base pay runs a little below Cairo for the same title, offset by lower living costs. The Suez Canal Economic Zone is different again. Terminal operators and factories in Ain Sokhna and East Port Said pay a Cairo level base plus site allowances, transport and sometimes housing, and shift premiums for round the clock operations. For a mid career logistics professional, a zone role can out earn an equivalent Cairo office job once the allowances are counted.

The 10th of Ramadan industrial zone behaves like Cairo on pay, with company transport as standard.

What the credential actually adds

Here is the honest version. Job postings that name CLTD, CSCP or APICS as preferred tend to sit in the upper part of the band for their level, and salary surveys that separate certified from uncertified logistics professionals typically show a premium in the low double digit percentages. We would not promise more than that, and in an SME the immediate uplift may be close to zero.

The bigger effect is on which doors open. Multinational shortlists, Gulf recruiters and 3PL account roles filter on recognized credentials, and a certification is one of the few things you can change about your profile in six months. It also gives you a negotiating anchor at review time: a defined body of knowledge, independently examined.

What is driving demand in 2026

Several things at once. The Suez Canal Economic Zone keeps adding terminal capacity and industrial tenants, each of which needs planners and distribution managers. The New Administrative Capital has created a second center of gravity for logistics in Greater Cairo. Export manufacturing in cables, auto components and textiles, and the cold chain for citrus and vegetable exports to Europe and the Gulf, have made transportation and network design skills scarce. E commerce fulfillment and last mile operators are hiring in Cairo, Giza and Alexandria. Tourism recovery has lifted air cargo and catering logistics around Cairo Airport. Fintech and shared service firms are recruiting planners too.

The job titles that most often mention CLTD in postings: logistics manager, distribution manager, transportation manager, fleet manager, warehouse operations manager, 3PL account manager, supply chain planner, import and export manager, last mile operations lead and logistics network analyst.

The Gulf angle

Many of our Cairo candidates study CLTD with one eye on the Gulf. Gulf employers and recruiters screen for ASCM credentials, and the certification travels without translation. Packages for logistics managers in the Gulf, quoted in local currency or USD, routinely come to several times a Cairo salary in EGP terms once housing and tax treatment are counted, according to postings we see. Remote planning roles for Gulf 3PLs, paid partly in hard currency to professionals who stay in Egypt, are a smaller but growing niche.

Set the salary picture against the budget. Our CLTD cost in Egypt article gives the all in figure in EGP, and is CLTD worth it in Egypt does the payback math for different situations. If your role is end to end supply chain rather than logistics, compare with our Certified Supply Chain Professional program before deciding. The Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution page has the Egypt price and formats, and every guide in this series is collected on the CLTD guides for Egypt hub.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average CLTD salary in Egypt?

There is no reliable single figure. Job postings and salary surveys at the time of writing typically show EGP 25,000 to 50,000 per month for certified logistics specialists with 3 to 6 years of experience and EGP 50,000 to 110,000 for managers in Greater Cairo, with multinationals at the top of each band.

How much more do CLTD holders earn in Egypt?

Surveys that separate certified from uncertified logistics professionals typically show a premium in the low double digit percentages, and postings that name CLTD sit in the upper part of their band. The larger gain is access to multinational, 3PL and Gulf shortlists that filter on recognized credentials.

Which employers in Egypt pay the most for logistics roles?

Multinationals, FMCG and pharma plants, and the shared service centers in New Cairo lead on base pay and benefits. Terminal operators and factories in the Suez Canal Economic Zone often match Cairo pay and add site, transport and housing allowances.

Does CLTD help Egyptians get logistics jobs in the Gulf?

Yes. Gulf employers and recruiters screen for ASCM credentials and CLTD is recognized without any local conversion. Packages for logistics managers there are typically several times a Cairo salary in EGP terms, which is why many of our Cairo candidates study with a Gulf move in mind.

Is CLTD recognized by government and public sector employers in Egypt?

It is not a requirement in public sector logistics roles, and base pay there is set by scale rather than by credential. An international certification does strengthen promotion files and is useful if you later move to a private operator in the ports or the canal zone.
