CPIM Certification Cost in Egypt: Exam Fees, Training and Total Budget in EGP
Read this guide in Arabic: اقرأ بالعربية
Let us start with the number most people are looking for. For a self funded professional in Egypt who trains with us, a first attempt at CPIM costs EGP 168,600 at the time of writing, because our fee includes the course, the exam and the certification fee, as the course page states. Study alone instead and you pay ASCM roughly EGP 76,000 to 100,000 in US dollars for the Learning System and exam. Employer sponsorship changes the picture completely, and so does the exchange rate, so the rest of this article breaks the figures into their parts so you can build your own budget rather than trust ours.
The ASCM side: exam, Learning System and membership
This is the self study route. ASCM bills in US dollars, and most Egyptian candidates who buy directly pay with an international card or through their employer. The core purchase is the CPIM Learning System, the official study content with its practice question bank, bundled with the exam itself. Depending on membership status and which bundle you choose, the package sits roughly in the USD 1,300 to 2,000 range at the time of writing. At about 50 EGP per US dollar, that is approximately EGP 65,000 to 100,000.
Membership is optional but changes the arithmetic. ASCM PLUS membership runs roughly USD 220 a year at the time of writing, about EGP 11,000, and gives members a lower price on the bundle. In most years the discount is larger than the fee, so we tell self study candidates to join first and buy second. A cheaper CORE membership exists but does not carry the certification discounts. Confirm the live prices on ascm.org before you pay, because ASCM adjusts them from time to time.
There is no separate exam center fee in Egypt. Your Pearson VUE seat, whether at a Greater Cairo test center or online from home, is covered by the ASCM exam purchase or, on our program, by our fee.
Blue Ocean training price in Egypt
Our Certified in Planning and Inventory Management program is priced at EGP 168,600 for live online or classroom delivery in Egypt at the time of writing. The course page shows this price in Egyptian pounds to visitors from Egypt, so what you see is what you pay. There is no self paced option for CPIM on our Egypt price list; the exam is demanding enough that we only run it with an instructor.
Classroom batches run at our New Cairo office in the Fifth Settlement when scheduled, and live online batches run on evenings and weekends so that planners at plants in 6th of October City or Ain Sokhna can attend without a commute. The price is the same for both formats.
One question to ask before you enroll anywhere: is the exam inside the training fee? With us it is. Our fee includes the course, the exam and the certification fee, as the course page states, so you do not buy the CPIM exam from ASCM on top. If another provider bills the exam separately, add the ASCM line to its price before you compare.
Retake, renewal and the costs people forget
Nobody budgets for a second attempt, which is why it hurts. ASCM charges a retake fee, reported at roughly USD 500 at the time of writing, around EGP 25,000, and applies a waiting period, commonly 14 days, before you can sit again. The cheapest insurance against this is finishing the full practice bank before you book. Our CPIM practice questions with answers are a free place to test yourself.
Renewal is a slow cost. CPIM is valid for five years, and keeping it requires 75 professional development points in each cycle plus a maintenance application fee, which ASCM lists at roughly USD 100 for members and USD 200 for nonmembers at the time of writing. Spread over five years it is small, but it is real. Our guide on how to renew your CPIM certification explains where the points come from.
Then the small Egyptian specifics. A passport, if yours has expired, because the national ID card alone usually does not satisfy Pearson VUE's Roman alphabet name check. Transport to the test center in New Cairo. A reliable internet connection and a quiet room if you test online. None of these is large, but they are the ones that surprise people the week before the exam.
Total CPIM budget in EGP
| Item | Self study, paid to ASCM | Blue Ocean program, paid in EGP |
|---|---|---|
| CPIM training, live online or classroom | None | EGP 168,600 |
| ASCM Learning System plus exam bundle | Roughly EGP 65,000 to 100,000 (USD 1,300 to 2,000) | Exam included in the program fee, per the course page |
| ASCM PLUS membership, optional | Roughly EGP 11,000 (USD 220) | Optional |
| Retake, only if needed | Roughly EGP 25,000 (USD 500) | Roughly EGP 25,000, paid separately |
| Maintenance application, every five years | Roughly EGP 5,000 to 10,000 (USD 100 to 200) | Same as self study |
| First attempt total | Roughly EGP 76,000 to 100,000 | EGP 168,600 |
The USD lines are converted at about 50 EGP per US dollar at the time of writing and will move with the rate. The low self study total assumes you join ASCM before buying the bundle; the high one assumes you do not. Self study is cheaper in cash; what the program adds is an instructor, a fixed schedule and structured practice aimed at a first time pass.
How employer sponsorship changes the picture
In our experience, a large share of CPIM candidates in Egypt do not pay for it themselves. Multinational FMCG and pharma plants, the big Egyptian groups such as Elsewedy, Orascom and Hassan Allam, and the shared service centers in New Cairo and Smart Village all run annual training budgets, and planning certifications are an easy approval because the return shows up in inventory turns and service levels within the year.
Banks are a different conversation. CIB, NBE and Banque Misr have learning budgets, but CPIM is not a typical banking credential, so the case has to be made through the procurement, facilities or operations teams that manage physical stock. It works, but expect more questions.
Two practical points. First, most sponsors attach a service commitment, often 12 to 24 months, with a clawback if you leave early; read it before you sign. Second, approach your manager with a one page note: the EGP total from the table above, the business problem you will fix, and the ASCM syllabus. Managers approve specifics, not aspirations.
Lowering the bill without lowering your pass chance
If you self study, join ASCM before buying the bundle, so the member price applies. Buy the current edition, never a second hand Learning System, because a retake costs more than the saving. Study with a structured batch so you sit once. And if the total is simply too much this year, the Supply Chain Planning Certificate at EGP 83,800 or the self paced Mastering Demand Forecasting and Inventory Management program at EGP 30,599 cover much of the same planning ground at a fraction of the price, and make CPIM later far easier.
Whether the full spend is justified for you depends on your role and your salary trajectory. We have written an honest piece on whether CPIM is worth it in Egypt, and the rest of our Egypt guides, including the requirements article, are collected on the CPIM guides hub.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the CPIM exam cost in Egypt?
ASCM bills in US dollars, not Egyptian pounds. The Learning System and exam bundle sits roughly in the USD 1,300 to 2,000 range depending on membership at the time of writing, which is approximately EGP 65,000 to 100,000 at about 50 EGP per dollar. There is no additional Pearson VUE fee for sitting at a Cairo test center or online. On our program the exam is included in the fee, as the course page states.
How much is the Blue Ocean CPIM course in Egypt?
Our Certified in Planning and Inventory Management program costs EGP 168,600 for live online or classroom delivery in Egypt at the time of writing, and the course page displays that price in EGP to visitors from Egypt. Our fee includes the course, the exam and the certification fee, as the course page states, so you do not buy the CPIM exam from ASCM separately.
Can I pay ASCM in Egyptian pounds?
No. ASCM charges in US dollars on its website, so you need an international card or an employer who pays on your behalf. Some Egyptian banks cap foreign currency spending on cards, so check your limit a few days before purchasing or ask your employer to process the payment.
Is ASCM membership worth it for CPIM candidates in Egypt?
If you self study, usually yes. PLUS membership costs roughly USD 220 a year at the time of writing and the member discount on the CPIM bundle is typically larger than the fee. Join first, then buy the Learning System and exam at the member price. On our program the exam is already included, so membership is optional.
What does a CPIM retake cost?
ASCM charges a retake fee reported at roughly USD 500 at the time of writing, around EGP 25,000, and you normally wait about 14 days before sitting again. Finishing the full practice question bank before you book is the cheapest way to avoid paying it.
How much does it cost to renew CPIM?
CPIM is valid for five years. Renewal needs 75 professional development points earned during the cycle plus a maintenance application fee, roughly USD 100 for ASCM members and USD 200 for nonmembers at the time of writing. Points come from training, conferences, membership and related professional activity.
