CSCP Exam in Egypt: Format, Test Centers and How to Book
Read this guide in Arabic: اقرأ بالعربية
The CSCP exam is the same test whether you sit it in New Cairo, Alexandria or Chicago. What differs in Egypt is the practical layer: which centers exist, how the ID rules collide with Arabic names, what happens when the internet drops during an online session. We have walked a few hundred candidates through this from our Cairo office, so this guide is less about the official handbook and more about what actually happens.
Exam format and passing logic
At the time of writing the CSCP exam has 150 multiple choice questions and a 3.5 hour time limit. Of those 150, about 130 count toward your score and roughly 20 are unscored pretest items that ASCM is trialing for future exams. You cannot tell which is which, so answer everything.
Scores are reported on a scale of 200 to 350, and 300 is the pass mark. Because exam forms differ slightly in difficulty, ASCM scales raw results rather than publishing a fixed number of correct answers. In practice, our candidates who consistently score 75 percent or higher on timed practice sets tend to pass. There is no penalty for guessing, and an unanswered item scores zero, so never leave a blank.
The questions cover eight modules: supply chains, demand management and forecasting; global supply chain networks; sourcing products and services; internal operations and inventory; forward and reverse logistics; supply chain relationships; supply chain risk; and optimization, sustainability and technology. Most items are scenario based rather than definitions. A typical question describes a distributor with rising stockouts and asks which lever to pull first.
The exam is delivered in English. There is no Arabic version at the time of writing, and that matters for Egyptian candidates whose working vocabulary is Arabic or French. Reading speed, not knowledge, is often what runs the clock down. Our CSCP practice questions are a good way to test both.
Where you take the exam in Egypt
ASCM exams are delivered only through Pearson VUE. There are two routes.
Authorized test center. The Pearson VUE locator typically shows several authorized centers in Greater Cairo, including one on the American University in Cairo campus in New Cairo, with others in Giza and central Cairo depending on the period. Centers open and close, so check the live locator on Pearson VUE's ASCM page rather than relying on any list, including this one. If you are in Alexandria, Mansoura or the Suez Canal zone, plan for a trip to Cairo or choose the online option.
Online proctored (OnVUE). You sit at home or in a quiet office, a remote proctor watches through your webcam, and the software locks your screen. It is convenient, and it is also where most of the horror stories come from. More on that below.
One point of confusion we clear up often: the exams for IPSCMI and ACI programs, such as CISCP, are administered through Blue Ocean itself. CSCP is not. We train you, but ASCM and Pearson VUE run the exam and nobody else can.
How to book, step by step
- Buy the exam or a bundle from ASCM if you are self studying. If you enroll in our Certified Supply Chain Professional program, our fee includes the course, the exam and the certification fee, as the course page states, so you do not buy the exam separately. Either way ASCM emails you an authorization to test, valid for about twelve months at the time of writing (about six months for a retake authorization).
- Create a Pearson VUE account linked to your ASCM ID. The name must match your ASCM account letter for letter.
- Choose test center or OnVUE, pick a date and time, and pay nothing further if your authorization is already loaded. Seats in Cairo fill up around university exam seasons and before the end of the Gregorian year, so book three to four weeks ahead.
- Save the confirmation email and note the reschedule window.

ID rules for Egyptian candidates
Pearson VUE requires a valid government issued ID with your photo and signature, and the name must match your registration. For Egyptians the safest document is a passport, because it carries your name in Roman letters exactly as ASCM will print it on your certificate. The national ID card is in Arabic, and while some centers accept it, any difference between the transliteration on your ASCM account and what the proctor reads is a reason to refuse entry with no refund.
Register with your full passport name, including the middle names Egyptians often drop in daily use. If your passport is close to expiry, renew it before you book. For OnVUE you photograph the ID during check in, so the same rule applies.
Exam day, rescheduling and when technology fails
At a test center, arrive 30 minutes early, bring the ID, and expect to leave your phone and bag in a locker. The clock runs continuously; a restroom break is usually allowed but the timer does not stop. Eat before, not during.
Rescheduling at a test center must be done at least 48 hours before your appointment, and ASCM charges about USD 45 for it at the time of writing, plus about USD 10 if you do it by phone instead of online. Miss the window or fail to show and you lose the exam fee. If you fail, there is a 14 day wait before you can retake.
For OnVUE, the practical rules from our Egyptian candidates: use a wired connection or sit next to the router, run the official system test the day before on the exact laptop you will use, clear the desk completely, and avoid afternoon slots in summer if your area has had scheduled power cuts. If the session drops, do not restart the exam on your own. Contact Pearson VUE support immediately through the chat, note the case number, and inform ASCM the same day. In most cases they reissue the authorization or reschedule at no cost when the fault was on their side, but you need the case record.

Frequently asked questions
How many questions are on the CSCP exam and how long is it?
At the time of writing it is 150 multiple choice questions in 3.5 hours. About 130 are scored and about 20 are unscored pretest items mixed in. There is one single exam, not separate parts.
What is the CSCP passing score?
Scores are scaled from 200 to 350 and 300 is a pass. ASCM does not publish a fixed percentage because exam forms vary in difficulty. In our Cairo classes, candidates who hit 75 percent or better on timed practice exams usually pass.
Where can I take the CSCP exam in Egypt?
At any Pearson VUE authorized test center in Egypt, which at the time of writing typically includes centers in Greater Cairo such as the one on the American University in Cairo campus in New Cairo, or online from home through OnVUE. Check the live locator because centers change. Blue Ocean does not administer the ASCM exam.
Can I use my Egyptian national ID at the test center?
A passport is the safer choice because the name is in Roman letters and matches your ASCM account. The national ID is in Arabic, and transliteration differences have led to candidates being refused. If you must use it, confirm acceptance with the center in advance and make sure your ASCM registration uses the exact English spelling your employer and bank use for you.
Is the CSCP exam available in Arabic?
No, at the time of writing the exam is in English only. Non native readers should practice timed reading of long scenario questions, since time pressure is the most common complaint we hear from Egyptian candidates.
What if my online proctored exam disconnects?
Stay calm, contact Pearson VUE support through the chat right away and record the case number. Then notify ASCM the same day. When the fault is with the platform they typically reschedule without charge, but you need the case record to prove it.
