The short answer

CTSC is the ASCM designation for the person whose name is on the transformation programme: the director, the PMO lead, the digital or operational-excellence head, the consultant. Where CSCP certifies that you understand the end-to-end chain and CPIM that you can plan and hold inventory, CTSC certifies that you can take a chain from where it is to where the strategy says it should be, using ASCM's own standards for describing and measuring the change. Same exam mechanics as the other ASCM designations, same maintenance cycle. Prepare live online with us, sit at Pearson VUE or from home, and maintain it with the points you earn doing the work.

What CTSC is

ASCM introduced CTSC for a job that the older designations assumed rather than certified: transformation. Indian manufacturers, retailers and logistics providers are mid-way through exactly that work, with digital planning, visibility, automation and sustainability programmes running at once, and the people leading them are usually experienced supply chain professionals without a shared method for the change itself. CTSC supplies the method. It is grounded in the ASCM SCOR Digital Standard, which gives the transformation a common process and metrics vocabulary, and in the ASCM Digital Capabilities Model, which describes what a digitally capable chain looks like, with ASCM's sustainability standards alongside. The designation is earned by examination, not by completing a course.

The four modules, and the frameworks behind them

Our preparation follows the four modules of the designation:

  1. Supply chain transformation overview: what transformation is and is not, why programmes fail, the role of SCOR DS and the Digital Capabilities Model as the shared language.
  2. Preparing for supply chain transformation: assessing current state against the frameworks, building the case, defining the target, aligning stakeholders and governance.
  3. Executing supply chain transformation: running the programme, managing change and people, sequencing capability building, handling risk.
  4. Reviewing supply chain transformation: measuring outcomes against SCOR metrics, sustaining the change, learning and the next cycle.

The exam is written to ASCM's Exam Content Manual for CTSC, which lists the domains and their weights; read the current manual before you start. Course page.

Who it is for in India

Supply chain directors and heads of operations leading a transformation programme; transformation and PMO leads in manufacturing, distribution, retail, logistics, energy and the public sector; digital and operational-excellence heads; and the consultants and systems integrators who run such programmes for clients. It is also a strong second designation for CSCP or CPIM holders whose role has become transformation rather than operation. It is not a first credential for someone new to supply chain; the exam assumes you have lived inside a chain.

The three share exam mechanics and the five-year maintenance cycle. Detail in the CSCP explainer and the CPIM explainer; the whole picture in supply chain certification in India. SCOR itself, as a framework course rather than a designation, is in lean supply chain and SCOR courses in India.

Exam, scoring and maintenance

One computer-based exam of 150 questions in 3.5 hours, scored on ASCM's 200 to 350 scale with 300 to pass. The designation is maintained with 75 professional-development points every five years, earned through work, learning and professional activity as ASCM's Maintenance Handbook sets out, or by retaking the exam. ASCM publishes any eligibility conditions for CTSC on its site; confirm them there before applying, and the advisor will walk you through the application.

Sitting the exam from India

Pearson VUE operates test centres in India's major cities, and OnVUE lets you sit from home or office with a webcam, a quiet room and a stable connection, on the date you book. Most of our candidates choose OnVUE. ASCM's exam and learning-system fees are paid to ASCM in US dollars; our preparation tuition is separate.

Preparation with us

Live online cohorts with recordings and a self-paced option, structured around the four modules and ASCM's content manual, with practice questions and timed mock exams. The content is the same wherever you are in India; advisors are available in person at our New Delhi, Noida, Pune, Hyderabad and Kochi centres. Companies prepare transformation teams together through corporate training in India, and the manager-level courses that sit around CTSC are in strategic supply chain management courses in India.

Fees, and who you pay

ASCM sets its exam and learning-system fees in US dollars, with member and non-member rates, payable to ASCM. Our tuition is shown in Indian rupees on the course page for visitors in India. The advisor gives you both components in writing.
