The short answer

At manager level the question stops being "how does the chain work" and becomes "what should ours look like, and how do I get the organisation there". Pick the course by the problem you own. Strategy and network decisions: Strategic Supply Chain Management. Leading a team through performance and change: the Certificate in Supply Chain Leadership. A board asking about disruption: the Resilience Certificate. A transformation programme with your name on it: CTSC. Agriculture, food or FPO supply chains: the agricultural programme, which is written for India. If you want a designation your employer recognises internationally, CTSC is the one here; the rest are programmes and certificates.

What changes at manager level

Operational courses teach process. Manager-level courses teach trade-offs: cost against service, inventory against responsiveness, centralisation against proximity, efficiency against resilience, and all of them against cash. They also teach the parts of the job that no planning system covers: making the case to finance, aligning sales and operations, leading people through change, and deciding what to transform first. The six courses below are organised around those trade-offs rather than around functions.

Course by course

Strategic Supply Chain Management (46 hours)

Sixteen modules: foundations of modern supply chain management, strategic thinking and competitive advantage, aligning supply chain strategy with business models, the demand-supply uncertainty matrix and supply chain archetypes, strategic trade-offs, designing end-to-end networks, network design and inventory strategy, advanced demand, supply and integrated planning, strategic sourcing and category management, logistics and distribution strategy, technology, resilience and financial performance. For supply chain and operations managers who need to design a strategy rather than run someone else's. Course page.

Certificate in Supply Chain Leadership (46 hours)

Nineteen modules built for the step from manager to leader: the leadership role, strategy and business alignment, the customer-centric supply chain, leading end-to-end performance and S&OP, KPIs and dashboards, decision-making and problem solving, analytical tools, leading people and teams, culture and conflict, risk and business continuity, digital supply chain leadership, data-driven decisions, AI and automation trends, sustainability, change leadership, cross-functional collaboration and talent development. It is built to CILT's professional framework and listed under CILT in our catalogue; the exact CILT status is on the course page. For supply chain managers stepping into leadership and heads of operations. Course page.

Supply Chain Resilience Certificate (ASCM)

Six topics: what resilience is, risk management in supply chains, strategic planning with data-driven decisions and collaboration, secure and flexible systems, leadership and resilient culture, and sustainability, innovation and technology. For managers who are asked, after every disruption, what the plan is. An ASCM certificate programme, not a designation; the distinction is explained in ASCM certificates in India. Course page.

Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain (CTSC)

ASCM's designation for leaders of transformation, structured across four modules: supply chain transformation overview, preparing for transformation, executing transformation, and reviewing it, grounded in ASCM's SCOR Digital Standard, Digital Capabilities Model and related frameworks. For supply chain directors and senior managers leading transformation initiatives and operations and logistics leaders managing multi-site change. Like the other ASCM designations it is earned by a proctored exam and maintained with 75 points every five years; the CTSC explainer covers it. Course page.

Mastering Agricultural Supply Chain Excellence (46 hours, 30 modules)

The one course here written specifically for India. Thirty modules across four parts with an integrated capstone: agricultural supply chains from inputs to consumers, India's agricultural markets and institutional ecosystem, policy, schemes and the trade environment, commodity segmentation and value-chain analysis, dairy, poultry and fisheries chains, FPOs, cooperatives and smallholder aggregation, demand forecasting and market intelligence, harvest-linked supply planning and agricultural S&OP, procurement and input supply, harvest coordination and post-harvest loss prevention, aggregation, storage, cold chain, transport and market linkage. The outcomes are operational: map the chain and its bottlenecks, build demand forecasts and procurement plans, design aggregation, storage and transport, and improve farmer realisation while reducing avoidable loss. For agri-procurement professionals, FPO and cooperative managers, food processors and agri-logistics teams. Course page.

Supply Chain Excellence Program (167 hours)

A self-paced grounding across core supply chain functions applied to business scenarios. For managers who arrived in supply chain from another function and want the full picture before choosing a strategic course or a designation. Course page.

Certificate, programme or designation?

Three of these six carry a Blue Ocean or CILT-aligned certificate of completion (the two strategy programmes and the agricultural programme); one is an ASCM certificate programme (Resilience); one is an ASCM-listed programme (Excellence); and one is an ASCM designation earned by exam (CTSC). If you need post-nominal letters, CTSC is the only one here that gives them, and CSCP remains the broader end-to-end designation; see supply chain certification in India and the CSCP explainer. If you need capability for a decision you have to make this year, the programmes are faster.

Delivery in India

The three Blue Ocean programmes and the Excellence Program are self-paced with the guided hours shown; the Resilience Certificate and CTSC preparation run live online in cohorts with recordings and a self-paced option. Advisors are available in person at our New Delhi, Noida, Pune, Hyderabad and Kochi centres; the content is the same wherever you are in India. Tuition is shown in Indian rupees on course pages for visitors in India; ASCM's exam fees for CTSC are set by ASCM. Companies run strategy programmes for leadership teams through corporate training in India; for leadership development beyond the supply chain, see leadership and management development programmes.

Choosing, in four questions

  1. What is the decision you are facing? Network and strategy: Strategic SCM. People and performance: Leadership. Disruption: Resilience. Transformation: CTSC.
  2. Is your chain agricultural or food? The agricultural programme first.
  3. Do you need letters after your name? CTSC, or CSCP for breadth.
  4. How much time? Self-paced programmes at your pace; CTSC is a cohort plus an exam you schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Which supply chain course is best for managers in India? Strategic Supply Chain Management for network and strategy decisions; the Certificate in Supply Chain Leadership for leading the team; CTSC for a transformation designation.

Is there a supply chain manager certification? CTSC (transformation) and CSCP (end-to-end) are the ASCM designations managers hold; CISCM is the IPSCMI manager-level credential. The programmes on this page are certificates of completion, not designations, except CTSC.

Is there an agriculture supply chain course in India? Yes. Mastering Agricultural Supply Chain Excellence is a 30-module programme built on India's agricultural markets, FPOs, post-harvest chains and market linkage.

Are these courses online? Yes. Four are self-paced; the Resilience Certificate and CTSC preparation are live online.

Do I need CSCP before a strategic course? No. The programmes have no prerequisites. CSCP and CTSC assume working experience rather than a prior certificate.
