Supply Chain Courses in India
Short version. Blue Ocean Academy runs 27 supply chain courses for learners in India. They fall into three routes: internationally examined certifications (ASCM CSCP, CPIM, CLTD and CTSC; IPSCMI CISCP and CISCM), specialist certificates in planning, warehousing, procurement, resilience and technology, and self-paced foundation and professional programmes. Everything is delivered live online or self-paced. ASCM exams are sat at a Pearson VUE test centre or online through OnVUE, so you do not need to be in a particular city to certify. If you already know which credential you want, go straight to its course page below. If you do not, the five questions in the middle of this page will get you there.
Who these courses are for
- Working professionals in planning, warehousing, inventory, logistics or purchasing who want a credential employers recognise. Most choose the ASCM or IPSCMI route.
- Graduates and career changers who need the vocabulary and the end-to-end picture first. Start with Supply Chain Management Fundamentals and read our guide to who can actually enrol before paying for an exam.
- Managers and heads of function who need strategy, resilience or transformation content rather than another operational certificate. Strategic Supply Chain Management, the ASCM Supply Chain Resilience Certificate and CTSC sit here.
- Companies training a team. Every course on this page can be run as an in-house programme. See corporate training in India or tell us about your team through the enquiry form.
If you are weighing supply chain against logistics or procurement as a career direction, read what actually separates the three first. Logistics courses have their own hub, as do procurement courses.
The three routes, and what each certificate actually is
The word "certification" is used loosely in India. These three things are different, and the difference matters when an employer reads your CV.
| Route | What you receive | Who awards it | Exam |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional certification | A designation you can use after your name (CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, CTSC, CISCP, CISCM) | ASCM (formerly APICS) or IPSCMI | Yes, external, proctored |
| Specialist certificate | A certificate of achievement in one area (planning, warehousing, procurement, resilience, technology, supplier relationship management) | ASCM; IPSCMI for warehouse, vendor and consultant credentials | ASCM certificates are assessed online; IPSCMI credentials are examined |
| Foundation and professional programmes | A Blue Ocean Academy certificate of completion under the Mastering Business Excellence (MBE) banner | Blue Ocean Academy | Course assessment |
Blue Ocean Academy is the training provider in every case. The certification body sets the exam and awards the designation. We prepare you for it, administer the course, and support the application. Nothing on this page implies that completing a course alone confers an ASCM or IPSCMI designation.

How the formats work
Every course page shows one of two delivery types.
- Live online (instructor-led). Scheduled sessions with a trainer, in cohorts, with recordings. This is how the ASCM, IPSCMI, CIPS and CILT certification courses are delivered. Most also offer a self-paced alternative on the same page.
- Self-paced. Recorded modules, assessments and downloadable material you work through on your own timetable. All Mastering Business Excellence programmes are self-paced.
Classroom sessions are arranged through our India centres when a cohort justifies it. Ask the advisor rather than assuming a batch exists in your city; we will not list a schedule here that we cannot keep. For a fuller comparison, read online or classroom: choosing how to study in India.
Fees are shown in Indian rupees on each course page for visitors browsing from India. We do not publish a fee table on this page because prices vary by format and change with the certification body's exam fees.
Exams and certificates: what to expect in India
- ASCM exams (CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, CTSC) are computer-based, 150 questions in 3.5 hours, delivered at Pearson VUE test centres or online through OnVUE with remote proctoring. Pearson VUE operates centres in Delhi NCR, Pune, Hyderabad and Kochi among other Indian cities; availability for a specific exam is only visible once you log in to schedule, so we do not promise a seat at a named centre.
- Keeping an ASCM designation means earning 75 maintenance points every five years. If you do not, the designation is suspended and eventually lost, and the exam has to be retaken. Factor that into your choice.
- IPSCMI credentials are exam-based and staged. IPSCMI describes itself as a professional certification institute and makes no accreditation claim on its own site; we repeat that plainly so you can weigh it.
- Blue Ocean Academy certificates for self-paced programmes are issued on completion of the course assessment. They evidence training, not an external designation.
Choosing, in five questions
- Do you need letters after your name? If yes, you are choosing between ASCM and IPSCMI. If no, a specialist certificate or a self-paced programme is cheaper and faster.
- Which part of the chain do you run? Planning and inventory points to CPIM; warehousing, transport and distribution to CLTD; the whole chain, suppliers to customers, to CSCP or CISCP.
- How much exam can you take on? CPIM, CSCP and CLTD are each a single 3.5-hour exam. IPSCMI is staged. Specialist certificates are lighter.
- Do you learn better in a cohort? Choose a live online course. If your week is unpredictable, choose self-paced.
- Who is paying? If your employer is, ask them which body their other managers hold; consistency inside a team has real value.
Still unsure? Our comparison of supply chain certifications in India goes deeper on CSCP versus CPIM versus the IPSCMI route.
Studying from your city
We teach live online across India, so the course is the same whether you are in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad or a smaller city. What differs is where you sit an external exam and whether you can visit a centre.
- Delhi NCR: our New Delhi centre in Connaught Place and our Noida centre. See training in Delhi and in Noida.
- Pune: training in Pune.
- Hyderabad: training in Hyderabad.
- Kochi and Kerala: training in Kochi.
- Everywhere else: live online or self-paced, with Pearson VUE or OnVUE for ASCM exams. We do not have premises in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai or Kolkata and will not imply otherwise.
Frequently asked questions
Which supply chain course is best for a beginner in India? Supply Chain Management Fundamentals, then CSCP or CISCP once you are working in the field. CSCP no longer has an experience requirement, but the exam assumes practical context.
Is an online supply chain certification valid? The ASCM and IPSCMI designations are the same regardless of how you studied; the exam is what certifies you. Employers check the designation, not the classroom.
CSCP or CPIM? CSCP covers the end-to-end chain and supplier and customer relationships; CPIM goes deep on planning, scheduling and inventory. Planners usually pick CPIM; generalists and managers pick CSCP.
How long does a course take? Live online cohorts run over several weeks; self-paced programmes depend on your pace. The course page shows the guided hours. We do not quote exam dates here because ASCM exams are scheduled individually through Pearson VUE.
Do you guarantee a job or a salary? No. We train you for a recognised exam and a real skill set. Anyone who promises placement for a certification course is not describing how these credentials work.
Talk to a course advisor
Tell us your role, your city and what you want the credential to do for you, and an advisor will recommend one or two courses rather than a list. Speak to a course advisor or call your nearest centre from the city pages above.
