PHRi Course in Cairo
Read this guide in Arabic: اقرأ بالعربية
Our Cairo office sits in the Fifth Settlement, a few minutes from the AUC campus where many of our learners later sit their exam. This page is for HR professionals in Greater Cairo who want to know, in plain terms, how the PHRi program works here: who takes it, the formats we offer, what it covers, what it costs in EGP and how to get started.
Who takes the PHRi in Cairo and Giza
The typical Cairo class is a mix. HR specialists and business partners from multinationals in New Cairo, Smart Village and Maadi who want the credential their regional colleagues already hold. HR officers from banks and telecoms whose departments are professionalizing. Team leads from the shared service and outsourcing centers that run HR operations for Europe and the Gulf. Personnel and payroll specialists from Egyptian groups in construction, real estate and FMCG who want to cross into a multinational. And plant HR staff from 6th of October and the 10th of Ramadan who commute in once a week or, more often, join live online.
What they share is two or more years of real HR experience and a plan. If you are not sure you qualify yet, read our PHRi requirements and eligibility in Egypt guide first, or send us your CV and we will check.
Three ways to take the program
HRCI does not require a course to sit the exam and does not accredit or approve training providers. Blue Ocean Academy is a Certification Prep Provider for HRCI exams, and we deliver the Professional in Human Resources International (PHRi) program in three formats for Egypt.
- Classroom in New Cairo, at our office in the Fifth Settlement, when a batch is scheduled. Small groups, a trainer in the room, and classmates from other Cairo employers to compare notes with.
- Live online with an instructor, in scheduled evening or weekend sessions with recordings. This is the most popular choice for learners on the Giza side of the river and in the industrial cities, where the Ring Road decides your evening for you.
- Self paced, for people who travel for work or cannot commit to fixed sessions.
At the time of writing the Egypt price for live online or classroom is EGP 56,200, and the self paced option is EGP 66,399, discounted from a standard EGP 132,799. These prices are shown in EGP on the course page for visitors from Egypt. Our fee includes the course, the exam and the certification fee, as the course page states, so HRCI's exam and application fees are not added on top; the full picture is in PHRi certification cost in Egypt.
How scheduling works
We do not publish fixed start dates a year ahead, because batches are opened when enough Cairo learners are ready, and we would rather tell you honestly when the next one starts than promise a date and shift it. In practice there are several intakes a year. Sessions run in the evening or at the weekend so people can hold down a full time job, and a batch usually runs eight to twelve weeks. During Ramadan we shorten and move sessions later, and we avoid the public holidays that empty Cairo.
Live online sessions are recorded, so a missed week because of a site visit to Ain Sokhna or a board meeting is not a problem. Ask our advisors for the next scheduled batch and the session times before you plan around it.
What the program covers
The program follows the six PHRi functional areas: HR Administration and Shared Services, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations and Risk Management, and HR Information Management. Each is taught through the lens of the exam, with scenario questions worked in class rather than left for homework, because that is the part Egyptian candidates most often underestimate.
Alongside the content you get practice question sets to build timing for 115 questions in 135 minutes, a mock exam, and guidance on the HRCI application itself: setting up your account, describing your experience the way HRCI expects, and booking at a Pearson VUE center or online. The logistics are covered in our PHRi exam in Egypt guide. Materials are updated as HRCI revises its exam content outline, so ask which edition the current batch uses.
Cairo employers that value it
The PHRi appears most often in postings from multinational regional offices and shared service centers, the large banks, telecom operators, pharma and FMCG plants, and the big Egyptian groups in construction, real estate and energy as their HR functions mature. Several of these employers sponsor staff through the program, and some run small corporate batches with us, live online or at their own premises. If your HR director is open to that, we can provide a group proposal and invoice in EGP.
How to enroll and pay in EGP
Open the course page, where the price appears in EGP for Egypt, and submit the enquiry form, or call or email our Cairo office directly. An advisor will confirm your eligibility for the PHRi, tell you the next scheduled batch and the format options, and walk you through payment in Egyptian pounds. If your company is paying, we issue an invoice in the company's name. If you are weighing the PHRi against the aPHRi or the Senior Professional in Human Resources International (SPHRi), say so; we would rather place you at the right level than sell you the wrong course.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the PHRi classroom in Cairo?
Classroom batches run at our office at U Venues, Office 239, Second Floor, Tourism Zone, Fifth Settlement, New Cairo, when a batch is scheduled. Many learners from Giza, 6th of October and the industrial cities choose the live online format instead to avoid the commute.
When does the next PHRi batch in Cairo start?
We open batches when a group of Cairo learners is ready, usually several times a year, with evening or weekend sessions over eight to twelve weeks. Ask our advisors for the next scheduled date and format rather than relying on a published calendar.
Does the course fee include the HRCI exam fee?
Yes. Our fee includes the course, the exam and the certification fee, as the course page states. The EGP 56,200 live online or classroom price at the time of writing covers the training and the HRCI exam, so you do not pay HRCI's roughly USD 495 separately for your first attempt. A retake or recertification is paid separately.
Can I take the course if I live in Alexandria or the Suez Canal zone?
Yes. The live online format is the same program with the same trainers, delivered in scheduled sessions with recordings. You can then sit the exam online through OnVUE from home or travel to a Pearson VUE center in Cairo for the day.
Can my employer pay for the PHRi course?
Yes, and many do. We issue an invoice in EGP in the company's name, and we can run a corporate batch live online or at your premises if several team members are enrolling. Ask our advisors for a proposal your HR director can approve.
