Do I need to register before looking for a private sector job in Qatar?

If you are Qatari, yes. Under Qatar Law No. 12 of 2024, Qatari job seekers must register with the Ministry of Labour to be considered for private sector jobs.

Register first, then use a course to prepare your CV and your selection day skills. Technical and project specialists are also named in the list of roles for Resume Building Essentials. Resume Building Essentials suits graduates, experienced professionals preparing a move, and managers updating senior applications. Mastering Group Discussions suits graduates preparing for assessment centers and applicants to graduate schemes and internships.

How can an employer in Qatar choose training for Qatari staff?

Under the same law, employers must train Qatari staff, so start from the skill gap you want to close first. The law also says the Ministry of Labour prepares the Qatarisation plan and sets the required share of Qatari employees in each sector.

Leadership Essentials suits first time and emerging managers, and experienced team leaders and supervisors. Mastering Train the Trainer suits trainers, L&D and HR professionals, and subject matter experts who teach, at USD 599 self paced. In September 2026 the Minister of Labour chaired the first of a series of consultative sessions on the Private Sector Nationalisation Plan, so ask your HR team whether a course can sit inside your company's training plan. Start with one skill for the whole group rather than several. Use the corporate enquiry page to ask about a group.
