The APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional is the credential most often written into senior supply chain job specifications across the Gulf and India. We run it in seven countries, in the classroom and live online, using the official ASCM Learning System and trainers who have taken the exam themselves.
Why employers keep asking for this one
Ten years ago a supply chain job in this region was mostly about moving freight and clearing customs. That is not the job any more. The same title now carries demand forecasting, supplier risk, stock sitting in three countries at once, sustainability reporting and a technology stack that somebody has to own.
Most credentials go deep on one function. The CSCP does the opposite. It takes the whole chain in view, from suppliers through to the end customer, which is why hiring managers use it as a filter: it tells them in one line that a candidate can think about the network rather than about one warehouse.
Something worth knowing before you enroll. Almost everyone who sits in our classes already knows how to do the work. What they are usually missing is the shared vocabulary and the structure to defend a decision in front of a finance director. That is the real thing the CSCP gives you, and it is why people who have been doing the job for a decade still get value out of it.

The eight modules, and where the marks actually sit
The 2026 Learning System is built on eight modules, and the APICS Exam Content Manual publishes how heavily the exam weights each area. This matters more than most candidates expect. Sourcing, internal operations and relationships together account for more than half the paper.

Here is the mistake we see most often. Candidates study in module order, put their best energy into modules one and two, and arrive at internal operations and inventory tired. That module is the heaviest on the exam. We build the classroom schedule around the weights instead, and we come back to the heavy modules last so they are fresh on exam day.

Who should be in the room
ASCM is unusually specific about this. If you are responsible, or want to be, for any of the following, the CSCP is built for you: supply chain strategy or design, technology selection and use, demand planning, customer and supplier relationships, inventory across the network, reverse logistics, supply chain risk, change management, improvement and best practice, or supply chain financial management.
Translated into the job titles we actually see in our classes: supply chain and logistics managers, planners moving into something broader, procurement and sourcing leads, operations and distribution managers, consultants, and freight and 3PL people stepping up to run a network rather than a lane.
Entry requirements. ASCM sets no formal education or experience prerequisite on its current CSCP page, its FAQs or the exam handbook. Membership is not required either, although members holding the certification upgrade pay less for the Learning System, the exam and the bundle.

Read those as direction rather than promise. They are global medians, not Gulf or Indian ones, and nobody gets a raise for a certificate on its own. What actually happens is more ordinary and more useful: the credential moves you from screened out to shortlisted, and it gives you the language to argue for network level decisions in the rooms where those decisions get made. Keeping the credential valid
The CSCP is maintained, not just earned. Plan for it from the start.
Every 5 yearsSubmit 75 professional development maintenance points, or 100 if you hold Fellow status. Cycles run in five year intervals from your certification date.Points come easilyASCM membership alone earns six points a year, which is 30 across a cycle. Questions we get asked most
1Is the APICS CSCP recognized in the Gulf and India?Yes. It is issued by ASCM, the Association for Supply Chain Management, which owns the APICS certifications, and it is recognized globally. In practice we see it named directly in job specifications across ports, free zones, 3PL, retail, oil and gas and manufacturing in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India.
2Which countries do you run the CSCP in?Classroom batches run in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and India. The same program also runs live online, so you can join from anywhere in the region without waiting for a batch in your own city.
3Do I need a degree or work experience to enroll?ASCM states no formal education or experience prerequisite on its current CSCP page, its FAQs or the exam handbook. The credential is defined by job responsibility rather than years served. That said, the material assumes you have seen a supply chain from the inside, and most people who do well have a few years behind them.
4How long does the course take?ASCM recommends around 100 hours of study in total. With our instructor led schedule, most people working full time are ready to sit the exam in eight to twelve weeks. Going faster is possible if you can protect the study time, and we have had candidates finish in six.
5What does the exam involve?One computer based exam of 150 questions, of which 130 are scored and 20 are unscored pretest items, in 3.5 hours. The scale runs from 200 to 350 and 300 is the pass mark. There is no penalty for a wrong answer, so leave nothing blank.
6Where do I sit the exam?At a Pearson VUE test center, or online through the OnVUE remote proctoring system from home or the office. APICS exams are available on demand all year, and OnVUE runs 24 hours a day, which helps if you are working shifts or traveling.
7Is the CSCP supported by Hadaf in Saudi Arabia?Yes. The CSCP is one of the certifications on our Hadaf supported list for Saudi nationals. The support conditions change from time to time, so ask our Riyadh team for the current position before you budget for it.
8How much does it cost?ASCM list prices at the time of writing are USD 2,620 for the bundle, which covers the Learning System, an exam voucher, the 2nd Chance Exam retake, books, online tools and the Exam Content Manual, for members holding the certification upgrade, and USD 3,650 for everyone else. The Learning System on its own lists at USD 1,450 or USD 2,015. We package tuition, materials and exam preparation together, so ask an advisor for the current figure in your country.
9What happens if I fail the exam?You wait 14 days before retaking. The ASCM retake fee is USD 400 for members with the certification upgrade and USD 500 otherwise. If you bought a bundle and sat the exam within 365 days of buying it, the 2nd Chance Exam gives you one free retake as a 180 day authorization to test.
10How do I keep the certification valid?You submit 75 professional development maintenance points every five years, or 100 if you hold Fellow status. Miss the deadline and the certification is suspended, then expires after a 90 day grace period. ASCM membership alone earns six points a year, which is 30 of the 75 across a cycle.
11Can you run the CSCP for our team in house?Yes, and it is often the cheaper route once you have five or more people. We deliver at your premises anywhere in the seven countries listed above, and we can build the case examples around your own supply chain rather than generic ones.
12Should I take the CSCP or the CPIM?Take the CSCP if your role reaches across the whole chain, so strategy, sourcing, logistics, relationships and risk. Take the CPIM if you live in planning, scheduling and inventory. Plenty of senior people end up holding both, and ASCM reports a premium of as much as 32 percent for those with three or more credentials.
