CSCP certification in Dubai is open to you through any one of three routes set by ASCM, formerly APICS: three years of related business experience, a bachelor's degree, or an active listed credential such as CPIM or CLTD. The exam is delivered by Pearson VUE, and you can prepare with the Certified Supply Chain Professional course. The Certified in Planning and Inventory Management course is another ASCM option, including for inventory and demand planners.

Who qualifies for CSCP certification in Dubai?
ASCM accepts one of three routes: three years of related business experience, a bachelor's degree or international equivalent, or an active CPIM, CLTD, CTL, CFPIM, CIRM, SCOR P, C.P.M., CSM or CPSM. These are ASCM's rules and they can change, so confirm them with ASCM before you book.
Here is how the routes look for people working in Dubai.
- You work in buying, planning or warehousing at one of the businesses Jafza reports at Jebel Ali, which it puts at more than 11,000. Count your years in those roles and ask ASCM whether they qualify as related business experience.
- You hold a bachelor's degree or international equivalent, but have only a year or two in the field. The degree route can apply on its own.
- You hold an active CPIM or CLTD. That credential is itself an entry route.
- You have a diploma, under three years in the field and none of the listed credentials. Ask ASCM whether the diploma counts as an international equivalent. If it does not, the free self paced Supply Chain Management Fundamentals course is a sensible first step while you build experience.
What does the CSCP exam cover, and how is it taken?
The CSCP exam is delivered by Pearson VUE, at test centers or online proctored. Check the ASCM and Pearson VUE locator for what is available to you in Dubai at the time you book.

Use your own job to see which areas you already know. Wholesale and retail trade contributed 24.5% of Dubai's GDP in the first nine months of 2024, and transport and storage represented 12.4%, according to the Dubai Media Office. If you supply shops or distributors, you start closer to Demand Management and Forecasting. If you move or store goods, you start closer to Forward and Reverse Logistics.

- Certified Supply Chain Professional: for supply chain professionals, procurement and sourcing specialists, logistics and operations managers, and inventory and warehouse professionals who want the CSCP from ASCM. If your job is not on that list, ask an advisor which course fits.
- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management: for supply chain professionals seeking formal certification, inventory and demand planners, and operations and production managers responsible for planning and scheduling.
- Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution: for logistics and supply chain professionals, transportation and distribution managers, warehouse and inventory specialists, and freight and operations coordinators.
- Supply Chain Planning Certificate: for supply chain and logistics professionals, procurement and inventory management personnel, operations and production planning staff, and warehouse and distribution professionals.
- Certified International Supply Chain Professional: an IPSCMI certificate, not an ASCM one. The course page lists about 48 hours of study. Ask an advisor which format is available.
- Supply Chain Management Fundamentals: free and self paced, with about 47 hours of study listed, for early career professionals, graduates, business teams and supply chain professionals.
How do you prepare for the CSCP while working in Dubai?
Map the eight exam areas against your current job, then rank them from strongest to weakest. Spend most of your study time on the weakest areas, because the exam covers all eight.
Sourcing is a good example. Etihad Rail freight services carry bulk and industrial cargo and link industrial zones, logistics hubs and ports across the UAE, so if you buy or move goods in Dubai, rail may be one of the routes you plan around. Match that experience to the Sourcing Products and Services and Forward and Reverse Logistics areas, and give more time to the areas your job never touches.
After you pass, the CSCP is maintained with 75 maintenance points every 5 years, or by retaking the exam. Ask ASCM how points are earned.
