CIPS in Dubai: Cost, Exam, Eligibility and Formats

Read this page in Arabic: العربية | Last updated November 2026

CIPS in Dubai is a UK procurement qualification that you can study live online around a Dubai job. If you already buy, source or manage suppliers, look first at CIPS Level 4: Diploma in Procurement and Supply, and look at CIPS Level 3: Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations if you are newer to purchasing.

At a glance

  • Level 3 suits assistants and officers, Level 4 suits buyers and sourcing specialists, and Level 5 suits managers and senior buyers with Level 4.
  • You can study live online from Dubai, and CIPS exams are booked through CIPS and sat at Pearson VUE test centers or remotely.
  • Live online tuition for Level 4 is AED 7,250, and CIPS sets its own exam fee separately.
  • Ask an advisor to confirm your level, format and start date before you pay.

Does CIPS in Dubai fit your role?

CIPS fits you if your daily work is buying, contracting or managing suppliers. The Level 4 modules run from the scope of procurement to negotiation, supplier relationships and whole life asset management.

Where you work in Dubai changes what you take from the course. If you buy for a Government of Dubai entity, Dubai Law No. 12 of 2020 sets the contract and warehouse rules for your entity and tasks the Department of Finance with a manual for purchases and inventory. Read those rules first. The Level 4 modules include L4M3 Commercial Contracting and L4M5 Commercial Negotiation.

If you source for a trading, storage or free zone business, these figures show how large those sectors were. The Dubai Media Office reports that wholesale and retail trade contributed 24.5% of Dubai's GDP in the first nine months of 2024, with transport and storage at 12.4%. Jafza, DP World's flagship free zone at Jebel Ali, reports more than 11,000 businesses. The Level 4 modules also include L4M2 Defining Business Needs and L4M6 Supplier Relationships.

When should you choose something other than CIPS?

Choose another course if you want one focused skill rather than a diploma with eight modules and their exams. Ask an advisor how long a CIPS level takes before you enroll.

Who can start CIPS Level 4 in Dubai?

CIPS sets the entry rule for the Level 4 Diploma: Level 3, two A levels or equivalent, or relevant experience. Two years of procurement experience is common. Confirm the current rule with CIPS before you enroll, because it can change.

The other levels follow from that:

  • Level 3 Advanced Certificate: 5 modules, entry level.
  • Level 5 Advanced Diploma: 8 modules, and it needs Level 4.
  • Level 6 Professional Diploma: leads to MCIPS with 3 years of experience.

How do the CIPS exams work for Dubai candidates?

CIPS exams are booked through CIPS and sat at Pearson VUE test centers or remotely, in scheduled exam windows. Confirm current availability with CIPS before you plan your study.

Level 4 has eight modules: L4M1 Scope and Influence of Procurement and Supply, L4M2 Defining Business Needs, L4M3 Commercial Contracting, L4M4 Ethical and Responsible Sourcing, L4M5 Commercial Negotiation, L4M6 Supplier Relationships, L4M7 Whole Life Asset Management and L4M8 Procurement and Supply in Practice. Core modules are 3 hour constructed response exams. The others are 1.5 hour objective response exams. Plan around the exam windows, not around the end of your classes.

What does CIPS in Dubai cost?

Live online tuition is AED 7,250 for Level 4, AED 7,300 for Level 3 and AED 7,250 for Level 5. The tuition fee does not include the exam. CIPS sets its own exam fee, so confirm it on the CIPS site before you budget.

Level 3 and Level 4 are close in price, so choose between them by entry route and role, not by the fee. Each course page lists what the fee covers. To study in person, ask an advisor about the Blue Ocean office in Dubai or about arranging a class.

Which CIPS program should you pick?

Pick the level that matches your role today and your entry route, then add the next level later. These are the matches for the roles each program lists.

  • Procurement officer, purchasing assistant, procurement administrator or supply chain practitioner: CIPS Level 3. If you already meet the Level 4 entry rule, you can go straight to Level 4.
  • Procurement professional, buyer, category manager or sourcing specialist who meets the entry rule: CIPS Level 4.
  • Procurement manager, senior buyer, category manager or supply chain manager who holds Level 4: CIPS Level 5. It does not suit you before Level 4.
  • Procurement manager who wants a program with a stated study load: Certified International Procurement Manager.

Getting started in Dubai

These checks take you from reading to enrolling.

  3. Ask an advisor to confirm the format, study time and start date for your level.
  4. If your employer is paying, send a corporate enquiry and ask an advisor what applies.
